About Mena

About Mena I’m Filomena Maria Barbosa, I was born in the beautiful Oporto’s, Portugal, in 1962. For as long as I can remember, I was sure that art would be my future. I entered Art School in 1980, where I participated in a student’s collective exhibition, illustrated school books and illustrated newspapers articles. But in the last year of training, life took me in to another direction and places to meet new people, cultures and colors!

In 2022, I reunited with my old passion and Mena Menocas was born. Visual artist passionate about capturing the essence of moments and people.

Whether through portraits, illustration or painting, the goal is always to touch the viewer in a unique and memorable way, taking a little of the soul and vision of the world.
